• 1Premiums (Prämien)Type thisWhat you paid your insurer over the year. The premium deduction starts from this figure, and it is capped — the cap is not printed here and depends on your canton and your household.
• 2–4Franchise, Selbstbehalt, SpitalbeitragType thisThe part of your own treatment you paid: the excess, the co-payment and the hospital contribution. These are medical costs — a different deduction from premiums, and one that only counts above a threshold.
• 5–6What your insurance did not coverRead onlyTreatments your policy does not cover, or is not obliged to. Whether they count as medical costs depends on what they were, so check before adding them to the figures above.
• CHFThe total belongs nowhereCheck the deductionThe biggest number on the page, and it goes in no field of the return. It mixes your premiums with what you paid towards treatment, and those are two separate deductions with separate rules.
• IhrIhr Anteil — your shareRead onlyThe only column here that is yours. What the provider billed and what the insurer paid sit beside it, and neither is money you carried.
